Pakistan’s PM Sharif commends Air Force on its commemorative day — Dawn

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a message marking Pakistan Air Force Day, celebrated on September 7, highly praised the work of the country’s Air Force personnel. As Dawn reports, he said that the Air Force had demonstrated professional capabilities in air conflicts for decades.

Prime Minister’s statement

Sharif described the Pakistan Air Force as an organization with a history of sacrifice, courage, and professionalism. According to him, military pilots have always answered the state’s calls “with great courage.”

The prime minister also mentioned the events of September 1965. He said that the determination and aspiration of Pakistani aviators to defend the country’s air borders brought them victory, while fallen servicemen gave their lives in defense of the homeland.

Mention of the events of 2025

Sharif separately mentioned May 2025 and said that the Pakistan Air Force acted jointly with other branches of the armed forces during what he called “Marka-i-Haq.” He attributed the success to bold leadership, the tactical decisions of combat crews, planning, and the use of multi-domain capabilities acquired through modernization and the development of indigenous capabilities.

In his message, the head of government wished the Pakistan Air Force further professional success and expressed confidence that it would continue to protect the country’s sovereignty and air frontiers.
