President Herzog condemns settler violence in the West Bank — Jerusalem Post
In Israel, President Isaac Herzog called the ongoing violence by settlers in the West Bank a “moral stain” on the country and said that offenders should face the full severity of the law. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post following clashes between Israeli rioters and military personnel.
Clashes near Jalud
According to the IDF, the clashes occurred near the village of Jalud on Monday night. Security forces were trying to return a Palestinian family to its home after incidents that the military described as nationalist-motivated crimes.
According to the Israeli army, extremist settlers threw stones, attacked IDF soldiers and Border Police officers, and set property on fire in the area. Herzog condemned these actions as unlawful and unfounded.

Politicians’ reactions
Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz also condemned the arson attacks and assaults on military personnel. According to him, those involved in such actions constitute a small radical group that represents neither the Israeli people nor the majority of settlers.
Former IDF Chief of the General Staff and Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot called the events in Jalud serious acts of violence. He said that stone-throwing, arson, and attacks harm the security of residents and the work of security forces, and also accused the current government of losing control in the region.
