Personnel changes in the government
Sugiono had served as foreign minister since 2024, when Prabowo began his five-year presidential term. He is also the secretary-general of the president’s Gerindra party. Last week, Sugiono addressed the UN General Assembly, where he called for an end to colonialism and said that Palestine “remains a test of conscience” for the international community.
The reshuffle came just over two weeks after Suahasil Nazara was appointed finance minister in place of Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. Prabowo also appointed Dudung Abdurachman as coordinating minister for political and security affairs, and Suyudi Ario Seto as national police chief. His predecessor, Listyo Sigit Prabowo, was appointed head of the presidential administration.
