Armed men threatened Latvian military at border — RMF24

According to RMF24, armed and masked men accompanied at least 20 migrants at the Latvia-Belarus border during an attempt to illegally cross Latvia’s state border. Latvia’s Interior Minister Jānis Dombrava and the country’s armed forces reported the incident.

Threats against military personnel

According to Dombrava’s statement, the migrants’ escort was on the Belarusian side of the border, was armed and threatened Latvian military personnel. The minister also said that these individuals were actively urging the group in the direction of Latvia. He described the provocation as particularly demonstrative and aggressive compared with previous cases.

Latvian military personnel prevented the illegal crossing of the state border, the report said.
