Vladimir Putin has set a goal of increasing the number of international students at Russian universities to 500,000 by 2030.
This was announced by Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
According to him, the current enrollment rates suggest that this goal can be achieved within the specified timeframe.
Mogilevsky also noted that the increase in the number of foreign students is driven, in particular, by those who pay for their own tuition, which brings additional funds into the country’s economy.
Russia is seeing a trend toward a decline in the number of employees across various sectors, including IT, healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, retail, consulting, and other business services.
The Russian Ministry of Finance forecasts a sharp increase in the regional budget deficit to $21 billion.
