Putin called on Russian scientists to urgently develop alternatives to Western technologies

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia must accelerate the development of its own advanced technologies as quickly as possible to replace foreign solutions. He made these remarks during a meeting of the Science Council in Novosibirsk, emphasizing that technological development is crucial for the country’s economy and defense sector.

According to Putin, to achieve this goal, it is necessary to mobilize all of Russia’s scientific potential and focus resources on creating so-called “technologies of the future.” He asserts that the speed of developing and implementing innovations directly affects the state’s sovereignty, economic development, and ability to carry out strategic defense tasks.

At the same time, statistics indicate a decline in innovation activity in Russia. The number of applications for new technologies, inventions, and know-how registered by Rospatent remains significantly lower than before the start of the full-scale war, and imports of modern foreign technologies have fallen to their lowest level in decades.

This is reported by Russian propaganda media.
