Russia has threatened the Baltic states over their alleged assistance to Ukraine in the attacks

Moscow stated that it had “warned the Baltic states of the consequences” for, as Russia claims, “providing airspace” for Ukrainian strikes on Russian ports in the Baltic Sea.

This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, according to Russian media reports.

Zakharova stated that Russia “issued a warning” to the Baltic states over their alleged permission for Ukraine to use their airspace to launch strikes against Russian territory.

“These countries have been given a warning. If these regimes, these countries, have enough sense, they will listen. And if not, they will face a response,” the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.

A few days ago, similar statements were made by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

As is known, after the first instances of Ukrainian drones flying to attack Russian ports in the Baltic Sea straying into the territory of the Baltic states, rumors began to spread in the Russian media that this was linked to the Baltic states providing their airspace for the passage of Ukrainian UAVs.

The Baltic countries are preparing a protest against Russia’s participation in the Venice Biennale.

Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg revealed details of behind-the-scenes negotiations with Russia on the eve of full-scale war in his memoirs. In 2021, he was ready to discuss the possibility of withdrawing Alliance troops from Eastern Europe and creating a so-called “buffer zone,” which could include the Baltic states.

Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that a number of current political processes could play into the Kremlin’s hands and called them “Putin’s dream plan.”
