Russia announced that it had been invited to the G20 summit in the United States

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Russia had allegedly received an invitation to participate in the G20 summit in the United States at the highest level. The event is scheduled to take place in Miami in December 2026.

This was announced by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin.

Pankin noted that a final decision on participation will be made closer to the summit date.

According to him, the invitation exists, but Moscow has not yet decided on the format of participation.

“There is an invitation to attend at the highest level, but we’ll see closer to the date—God knows what will happen before then,” Pankin told reporters.

At the same time, Russian diplomatic circles stated that the Russian delegation viewed the first preparatory meetings for the upcoming summit, which took place in Washington, positively.

Earlier, various statements were made in Russia regarding possible representation at the summit. In particular, the participation of the country’s leadership was discussed, but the decision will depend on the political situation and the development of relations with the U.S. Separately, it was reported that the Russian leader does not plan to attend the G20 in Miami.
