Russia has banned the export of jet fuel until the end of November

The Russian government has decided to ban the export of aviation fuel from the country for five months, until November 30. The decision was made in the wake of attacks on Russian oil refineries.

This is reported by pro-government media outlets.

Following the ban on gasoline exports, which has been in effect since late March, the government’s new decision restricts the export of jet fuel, particularly that purchased through exchange trading. “The goal of this decision is to ensure stability in the domestic fuel market,” the government statement reads.

Exceptions will apply, in particular, to fuel in technical tanks used by aircraft during flight, aviation fuel placed under customs procedures prior to the entry into force of the export ban decree, as well as to supplies under intergovernmental agreements.

The new restriction was introduced following Ukrainian UAV strikes on oil refineries, which, according to estimates, brought nearly all refineries in central Russia to a halt and caused oil companies to lose 25% of their fuel production capacity.

As a reminder, fuel prices have been updated in Ukraine: gasoline and diesel remain high.
