Russian drone strayed into Moldova during an attack on Ukraine (video)

During the large-scale attack on Ukraine on May 13, one of the Russian drones crossed Moldova’s state border. According to the Moldovan Ministry of Defense, the drone entered from the direction of Mohyliv-Podilskyi and was heading toward the southern regions of the country.

The drone flew over several regions, including the city of Bălți, and remained in Moldovan airspace for at least 23 minutes.

The drone’s route over Moldova

At 4:00 p.m., the drone crossed the Moldovan border in the area between Mohyliv-Podilskyi in Vinnytsia Oblast and the village of Sauca in the Ocnita district in the north of the country. The data was provided by the Air Operations Service of the National Army.

At 4:05 p.m., local residents spotted a drone over Bălți—Moldova’s second-largest city. It was flying toward the Ungheni district. At 4:19 p.m., airspace surveillance systems detected the drone again—at 4:23 p.m., it was spotted near the town of Carpini in the Hîncești district. The drone continued flying south.

As a result, airspace in northern and central Moldova was temporarily closed. Authorities urged the public to follow safety precautions and report any suspicious objects by calling 112.

In the Rivne region, the death toll from the Russian attack has risen.

In the Vyshhorod district of Kyiv region, a fire broke out in a private home following an attack by a Russian drone. Information regarding potential casualties and the extent of the damage is being verified.
