The Latvian Parliament has approved the appointment of Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs' new government.

This was reported by Delfi.

▪️ “New Unity”
▪️ “Union of Greens and Farmers”
▪️ “National Alliance”

The “Progressives” and “Latvia First” parties remained in the opposition.

Baiba Braze will remain Minister of Foreign Affairs in the new Cabinet, while Raivis Melnis will take the post of Minister of Defense.

At the same time, Kulbergs’ government will serve for a limited term, as parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place in Latvia on October 3, after which the new composition of the Saeima will form the next coalition.

Kulbergs himself stated that the process of forming the government took only 10 days, which is “extremely fast” for Latvia.

“There is no time to waste now,” he emphasized.

The prime minister also stated that the new government should be associated with “speed and responsibility.”

Separately, Kulbergs highlighted the importance of security and the economy, citing the example of Ukraine.

“Without security, there will be no economy, and without an economy, there will be no security,” he said.
