US Air Force Secretary says space control weapons launched into orbit — Breaking Defense
US Air Force Secretary Troy Meink stated that the US Space Force has launched “space control weapons” into orbit. Breaking Defense reports this from the Air, Space & Cyber conference in National Harbor, Maryland.
Statement at the conference
The Air & Space Forces Association’s Air, Space & Cyber conference began on September 14, 2026, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor. According to the outlet, Meink’s statement was made at the beginning of the event.

First-day exhibits
The exhibition area featured General Atomics’ FQ-42 Vengeance unmanned fighter, Marvin Test Solutions’ Hellfire Scalable Rail Launcher, as well as AeroVironment’s launcher and Switchblade 600 and Switchblade 400 loitering munitions.
Northrop Grumman presented a 1:8 scale model of the Tranche 1 Transport Layer satellite. Sweden’s Saab brought a scale model of the T7-A Advanced Pilot Training System. Crystal Group demonstrated secure systems for remote use of laptops, while service dog Blue was present at the MaxVision booth.
