Slovakia has donated state-of-the-art medical equipment to Ukraine

Slovakia has donated a shipment of modern medical equipment worth over 340,000 euros to Ukraine, which has been delivered to hospitals in Vinnytsia and Kyiv. Officials in Bratislava emphasize that this is part of a systematic humanitarian aid effort during the war and an investment in the development of Ukrainian medicine.

Ukrainian hospitals have received a new shipment of modern medical equipment from Slovakia, which is intended to help doctors work faster, more accurately, and save more lives under the difficult conditions of war. During a visit to the Military Medical Clinical Center in Vinnytsia, Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár handed over diagnostic equipment to Ukraine with a total value of over 343,000 euros.

He emphasized that hospitals today play a key role in supporting people affected by the war. “War brings pain, suffering, and death. However, it is hospitals that give hope to those directly affected by the war. The medical staff here are doing an exceptionally professional job, I want to express my immense respect for them, pay tribute to their efforts, and I am glad that we were able to deliver the most modern diagnostic equipment to this clinic thanks to Slovak humanitarian support,” said Blanár.

According to the minister, Ukraine remains one of Slovakia’s key partners in the field of humanitarian and medical cooperation, and such assistance is part of long-term development programs. As part of this delivery, Ukrainian medical facilities received three pieces of equipment: a digital mammography unit with tomosynthesis and a dental X-ray system for the Vinnytsia Military Medical Center, as well as a mobile digital X-ray machine for the Amosov National Institute of Cardiac Surgery in Kyiv.

Blanar also noted that medical professionals in Ukraine work at a very high level, despite extremely difficult conditions, and their experience is valuable even to international partners. “I am very pleased that the Slovak Republic can, within its capabilities, contribute to improving medical care in Ukraine. I am pleased that the doctors and medical staff themselves have expressed satisfaction that they have the most modern diagnostic equipment at their disposal,” he added.

The minister also highlighted the work of the Ukrainian medical center in Vinnytsia, which treats both military and civilian patients and performs complex surgeries and conducts scientific research, particularly in the field of treating severe injuries and preventing amputations.

In Slovakia, officials emphasize that such cooperation must continue, as it provides an opportunity not only to help now but also to exchange expertise between Ukrainian and Slovak medical professionals. This was reported by the publication Aktuality.
