The club’s demands

In the petition, Accra Turf Club called on President John Mahama to intervene and ensure implementation of an agreement between the state and the club on an exchange of land plots. Club representatives also referred to the president’s position on the need for transparent management of state property.

The club said the dispute could affect jobs and the livelihoods of people connected with horse racing. The petition was received by Nana Yaa Jantuah, an employee of the Office of the President, who assured the participants in the action of the president’s commitment to consider their concerns.
