US announces visa restrictions on individuals in South Africa over racial discrimination claims
The United States has announced a new visa restriction policy targeting foreign nationals involved in actions in South Africa that the administration of President Donald Trump considers racial discrimination, incitement to violence, or land expropriation without compensation.
Marco Rubio's statement
As Anadolu Agency reports, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the policy would apply to foreign nationals who implement or support policies that, in the view of the US administration, promote racial discrimination, incite violence, or enable land confiscation without compensation in South Africa.
Rubio also said that individuals whom the United States considers responsible for such actions have no place in the United States.

US administration's allegations
According to Rubio, the South African government has "consistently" failed to adequately respond to rural crime, violent and dehumanizing rhetoric, and policies of racial discrimination against Afrikaners and other minorities.
The secretary of state cited Trump's position that the South African government is allegedly destroying the country's economy through what the US president described as an obsessive focus on racial grievances against the Afrikaner minority.
