The U.S. says it has struck nearly 20 targets in Iran
The United States announced the conclusion of a series of large-scale strikes in response to Iran’s downing of an American Apache helicopter and attacks on commercial vessels.
On the orders of U.S. President Donald Trump, Central Command (CENTCOM) forces struck nearly 20 military targets in Tehran.
The operation was described as a proportionate response to the Iranian regime’s aggressive actions in the Persian Gulf region.
According to official CENTCOM data, U.S. fighter jets attacked key elements of Iran’s defense infrastructure near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and radar surveillance stations were targeted.
According to an anonymous senior U.S. official, this operation significantly weakened the defensive and monitoring capabilities of Iranian military forces.
Washington’s airstrikes prompted an immediate response from Tehran, which launched a series of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles in retaliation.
However, U.S. and allied air defense systems demonstrated high effectiveness in repelling the attack. White House officials noted that “nearly all” enemy air targets were successfully intercepted in the sky.
At this time, the United States has not reported any casualties among its military personnel or significant damage to infrastructure.
Despite this, U.S. experts continue to conduct a detailed assessment of the consequences of the Iranian strikes. U.S. military command remains on high alert to monitor further developments.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has officially announced a large-scale retaliatory operation against U.S. forces.
According to their reports, missile and drone attacks targeted U.S. facilities located throughout the Persian Gulf. In particular, military bases actively used by the Pentagon to coordinate operations in the Middle East were targeted.
