PwC Senior Partner Ashiagbor Says Ghana Is at an Inflection Point — MyJoyOnline
PwC Ghana Senior Partner Vish Ashiagbor said the country’s business environment is at an inflection point as the private sector gradually takes on a greater role in economic activity. He said this at a welcome reception as part of the UK-Ghana Trade & Investment Summit 2026, MyJoyOnline reports.
According to Ashiagbor, Ghana’s business climate remains positive and dynamic. At the same time, companies should adapt their internal processes, business relationships and market strategies in order to take advantage of emerging opportunities. He noted that a slowdown in economic activity experienced by some businesses may indicate a period of significant change, when companies are adapting to new conditions.
Changing business strategies
The PwC representative stressed the need to review operational procedures, strengthen existing and establish new business relationships, as well as seek new markets. In his view, the gradual transition to a model in which the private sector has a stronger influence on business activity is positive for Ghana’s economy.

Ashiagbor also noted that the welcome reception was important for PwC because it brought together small and medium-sized businesses, large companies and policymakers. This, he said, makes it possible to better understand the state of the country’s business ecosystem.
Rate expectations
Ashiagbor said he expected the Bank of Ghana’s Monetary Policy Committee to keep the monetary policy rate at its current level. Among the factors that could influence the decision, he named recent statements by the central bank governor, a slight increase in inflation and signals of risks requiring caution.
British Ghanaian Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Adjoba Kyamah said the summit should facilitate a transition from intergovernmental discussions to concrete investments and long-term industrial projects. During the event, delegates discussed investment areas with the Association of Ghana Industries; the following day, the programme was expected to include presentations of investment-ready projects, and the summit was set to conclude with a golf tournament on September 25, 2026.
