Stubb spoke of the need for dialogue between Europe and Russia and cited two reasons

Finnish President Alexander Stubb believes that Europe should prepare to resume dialogue with Russia, citing two key reasons for doing so.

He said this in an interview with LRT.

According to Stubb, the first reason is the situation on the front lines, where, in his view, Ukraine currently holds a stronger position than Russia.

“Ukraine’s position is currently strong, while Russia’s is weak. One could say that Ukraine is largely winning this war, and Russia should be interested in starting a dialogue,” he stated.

The Finnish president cited Europe’s own interests as the second reason.

“If you’re not at the table, you’ll be eaten at that table,” Stubb said.

He added that it is too early to discuss the format of such a dialogue or specific representatives, but emphasized that Europe must be involved in discussions on the path to peace. According to him, the primary goal should be to achieve a ceasefire.

Stubb called on Europe to change its approach to supporting Ukraine.

Stubb calledfor calm amid statements about a possible threat from Russia.

Finlandwill deploy reservists to patrols following incidents involving Ukrainian drones.
