Nigerian court remands content creator in case over death of 20-year-old woman
The High Court of Nigeria’s Delta State ordered the remand of content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, known as Odogwu Asaba, in a case involving the alleged rape and death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro. He was placed in the maximum-security correctional centre in Ogwashi-Uku.
According to Premium Times Nigeria, citing PUNCH, the court granted an application to remand Ogbonna after the investigation was completed. The lawyer for the deceased woman’s family, Avele Aidial, said police had received the autopsy and toxicology results. According to her, they were included, along with other collected evidence, in the materials prepared for the prosecution and trial.
Police version
The case drew public attention in July, when Delta State police detained Ogbonna following a complaint from Agbro’s family. According to police, on June 1, the woman travelled to Asaba after the content creator allegedly offered to teach her how to monetize TikTok and Facebook accounts through content creation.

Police said that after arriving in Asaba, Ogbonna took Agbro to a hotel, where he allegedly raped her and used physical violence. According to law enforcement’s account, the woman returned home, told her parents about the alleged assault, recorded a video about what she had experienced, and later consumed a toxic substance. She died despite attempts to save her.
Ogbonna’s wife’s position
The content creator’s wife said in a video published in August on his social media page that her husband had a relationship with Agbro, but denied the rape allegations. She said she had lived with Ogbonna for eight years and did not believe he could have used coercion against the deceased woman.
Avele Aidial said that she represents Agbro’s family free of charge and provides it with legal and financial support. Ogbonna is presumed innocent until his guilt is established by a court.
