Air India captain’s test for psychoactive substances returned a non-negative result

India’s aviation accident investigation authority said that a confirmatory test of the captain of an Air India flight returned a non-negative result for psychoactive substances. The flight was traveling from Thailand to Delhi in August and encountered unusual turbulence. The findings of the investigation released on Friday were reported by the Jerusalem Post.

Injured passengers

According to the Indian authority, four people sustained serious injuries during the incident, while another 20 suffered minor injuries. Thus, more than 20 people were injured as a result of the turbulence.

Seat belt sign

The investigation also found that the seat belt sign was switched off at the time of the turbulence. In addition, the flight control systems recorded the loss of all three hydraulic systems of the aircraft.
