Trump calls reports about Byron Donalds’s website fake — The Hill

In the United States, President Donald Trump criticized reports that Florida Republican Congressman Byron Donalds removed several mentions of the president’s support from his gubernatorial campaign website. In a Truth Social post, Trump called the reports “another fake story” and said Donalds would be a great governor.

Changes to the campaign website

As The Hill reports, Donalds’s team removed several mentions of Trump from the website, including a top banner calling for donations to support the candidate endorsed by the president. The homepage now opens with a slogan about protecting the Florida dream, followed by a rotating list of endorsements. Trump’s endorsement remains on it.

The president also published a screenshot of Donalds’s response to reports about the changes. The candidate said he was proud of Trump’s endorsement and added a photo of them together at the Resolute Desk.

Dispute with the media

In the same post, Trump criticized the “fake media” and said courts should respond to their work. This came after the Trump administration revoked the White House credentials of journalists from MS NOW, CNN and Politico this week, explaining the decision by accusing these media outlets of spreading fake news.

Later, a federal judge ordered the White House to restore the journalists’ access, concluding that the ban likely violated their constitutional rights. At the same time, on Friday evening, Trump did not allow CNN to fly with the presidential pool aboard Air Force One during a trip to Tennessee.
