In Liverpool, United Kingdom, Massive Attack member Robert Del Naja was detained during a protest against the ban on Palestine Action and calling for an end to British arms supplies to Israel, according to the organizers. As Anadolu Agency reports, the detention took place on Saturday under anti-terrorism legislation.
Protest ahead of Labour conference
According to the organizers, the musician was detained after holding a placard expressing opposition to genocide and support for Palestine Action. The demonstration was organized by Defend Our Juries as part of the Lift the Ban campaign, which calls for Palestine Action to be removed from the list of banned terrorist organizations in the United Kingdom.
The protest took place ahead of the Labour Party's annual conference in Liverpool. It was attended by supporters of Palestine Action and activists opposing the British government's policy toward Israel and Gaza.

Appeal to the prime minister
After the detention, Defend Our Juries released a pre-recorded appeal to Prime Minister Andy Burnham. Along with Del Naja, it featured human rights lawyer Michael Mansfield KC and Palestine Action co-founder Huda Ammori. They said they do not consider people detained for supporting Palestine Action to be terrorists and called for the organization's ban to be lifted.
According to Gaza's Health Ministry, after the ceasefire came into force on October 10, 2025, the Israeli army continued daily attacks in the Gaza Strip. The ministry reported more than 1,400 people killed and about 5,000 injured during this period.
