Trump has no plans to meet with Zelenskyy during the UN General Assembly
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not currently on the list of world leaders with whom U.S. President Donald Trump plans to hold bilateral meetings during the UN General Assembly, which will take place in New York on September 21–22.
U.S. Permanent Representative to the UN Mike Volz made this
statement to reporters.
According to the schedule Woltz shared with reporters, Trump will arrive in New York on Monday afternoon, September 21. In the evening, he will participate in political events at Trump Tower.
On Tuesday, September 22, the U.S. president will deliver a speech at the UN General Assembly. Afterward, he will hold a series of bilateral meetings, including with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
Trump will also meet with leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and host a reception for leaders attending the UN General Assembly.
According to Volz, Trump will also meet with Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez in New York. However, the Ukrainian president is not on the list of bilateral meetings.
It should be noted that the Russian side hopes to hold a meeting between the Russian and U.S. foreign ministers in New York during the UN General Assembly.
U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation on September 8 that lasted exactly one hour. The parties discussed the results of the trip by U.S. President’s Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Kyiv and Moscow, assessing the visit positively and agreeing to continue working in this direction.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks in Kyiv with U.S. presidential representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
