White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt will step down at the end of August.
According to Trump, Levitt decided to step down to spend more time with her children and family. At the same time, she will continue to work with the president as one of his outside advisers.
“Our wonderful White House Press Secretary and one of my most trusted aides, Caroline Levitt, will be leaving her post at the end of the month to spend more time with her lovely young children and family. I fully understand and respect this decision,” the president said.
However, Levitt is not leaving Trump’s political circle. After her resignation, she is set to become an outside adviser to the president.
Trump noted that she will become one of his key advisors outside the White House and will retain significant influence within the Republican Party. According to the president, Livitt is set to join the Republicans’ efforts ahead of the midterm elections and help the party secure a victory.
“Caroline will now become one of my top external advisors and an influential voice in the Republican Party as we work to defy history and win decisively in the midterm elections,” Trump said.
The president also praised Livitt’s work on his political team. He noted that she has been working with his movement since 2018 and participated in the 2024 presidential campaign.
“Caroline has been a true leader in the White House and has done a phenomenal job fighting for justice, freedom, and liberty since 2018, including during our historic 2024 re-election campaign,” Trump said.
He also singled out Livitt as one of the best White House press secretaries in history.
“Caroline was one of the best White House press secretaries in the history of the position. Thank you, Caroline, for a job well done!” the president added.
Thus, after leaving the administration, Livitt will remain part of Trump’s political team and, according to him, will play a prominent role in the Republican Party’s activities ahead of the midterm elections.
