Trump Threatened Media Sources with Jail Time Over Reports of a Missile Shortage
On August 6, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States has significant ammunition reserves and threatened criminal prosecution against sources spreading information about a shortage.
According to Trump, the U.S. has “huge stockpiles” of ammunition, especially certain types. He also noted that the defense industry is ramping up production, and new factories and facilities are being built at a record pace.
“The U.S. has vast stockpiles of ammunition, especially certain types. In addition, large quantities are being produced and supplied to the U.S. as needed. Defense companies are building the largest number of plants and factories in our country’s history,” the U.S. president wrote.
At the same time, Trump stated that individuals who leak information to the media about an alleged ammunition shortage must be held accountable.
“Whistleblowers” who spread these treasonous statements are being prosecuted. “We will seek long prison terms!” he added.
