Trump threatened to sink ships attempting to break the blockade of Iran

Trump threatened to sink ships attempting to break the blockade of Iran

The United States has imposed a complete naval blockade on Iranian ports, and President Donald Trump has warned that any vessel attempting to breach it will be immediately destroyed.

Trump wrote about this on the social media platform Truth Social following the official announcement by U.S. Central Command regarding the start of the operation. Trump emphasized that the Iranian navy has already been effectively destroyed, and any surviving speedboats will be eliminated if they attempt to approach the restricted zone.

The blockade covers entry to and exit from Iranian ports and is aimed at stopping Tehran from collecting tolls for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. According to Trump, the U.S. will no longer allow Iran to collect this toll, which reached up to $2 million from some tankers. To counter these threats, U.S. forces will employ the same methods and weapons systems used in operations against drug traffickers’ boats at sea.

The decision to apply military pressure was made against the backdrop of the failure of diplomatic efforts to resolve the nuclear issue between Russia and Iran. Currently, the U.S. Navy fully controls the waters, preventing any attempts by Tehran to restore the former shipping regime. Trump emphasized that he does not consider the remnants of Iranian forces to be a serious threat, but is prepared to take decisive action in the event of provocations.

Iran announced that negotiations with the U.S. have moved to the expert level

The U.S. and Iran held talks with Pakistan’s participation.

The US announced the start of mine clearance in the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, US warships passed through it for the first time since the start of the war without Iran’s approval.

Negotiations between the US and Iran have begun to move forward. Tehran stated that Washington had allegedly agreed to unfreeze a portion of Iranian assets, but there has been no official confirmation from the American side yet.
