Trump has expanded the list of countries he is threatening with military force to 15, according to CNN

U.S. President Donald Trump has officially expanded the list of countries against which threats of force or military intervention have been made. Oman is the latest country to be added to this list. As a result, the number of countries targeted by the U.S. leader’s harsh rhetoric has risen to 15.

This was reported by CNN.

Analysts note that Trump’s threats have affected virtually one in every thirteen countries in the world, and in total—nearly one in every eleven people on the planet.

According to journalists, the U.S. president’s rhetoric has encompassed countries in Africa, Asia, North, and South America. Denmark is also mentioned separately—due to Trump’s statements regarding Greenland.

During this presidential term, the U.S. has already conducted military operations in seven countries. Among them:

  • Iran;
  • Iraq;
  • Nigeria;
  • Somalia;
  • Syria;
  • Venezuela;
  • Yemen.

In addition, Trump has repeatedly raised the possibility of using force against other countries.

The list of countries that have been the subject of direct or indirect threats includes:

  • Canada;
  • Colombia;
  • Cuba;
  • Mexico;
  • Panama;
  • Denmark;
  • Oman.

Analysts note that in some cases the focus was on combating terrorist groups, while in others it was about putting pressure on entire governments. Often, Trump simply did not rule out a military scenario, which created additional tension in international politics.

Experts explain this behavior with the so-called “madman theory.” Its essence lies in creating the image of a leader who is as unpredictable as possible and capable of any action.

Trump believes that fear and uncertainty can force opponents to yield to Washington. That is why he often uses tough rhetoric and does not rule out the possibility of military intervention.

Journalists pay particular attention to territories that Trump views as strategically important to the U.S. Among them are:

  • Canada;
  • Cuba;
  • Greenland;
  • Panama and the Panama Canal;
  • Venezuela.

The article notes that the U.S. president seeks to control key geopolitical points around the world and does not want strategic routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, to fall under the influence of other states.

The New York Times criticized Donald Trump’s statements regarding possible changes to Iran’s borders. According to the publication, such rhetoric demonstrates an imperial approach to international politics and poses risks to global stability amid the conflict in the Middle East.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the possibility of a military strike against Oman. According to him, this could happen if Oman and Iran attempt to establish control over the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the world’s key oil supply routes.

Trump intervenedin the Pentagon’s decision regarding troops in Poland.
