President Donald Trump denied reports that he was considering strikes inside Venezuela, contradicting earlier comments that had fueled speculation about expanded U.S. operations in the region.

Despite his remarks, the United States has significantly increased its military presence in the Caribbean, deploying the Gerald Ford carrier strike group along with fighter jets and thousands of troops. Washington has conducted strikes on drug-related targets at sea but says it has no plans to strike within Venezuelan territory.
Venezuelan opposition leaders and regional governments continue to accuse Nicolás Maduro’s regime of ties to drug trafficking. Maduro denies the allegations, calling them part of Washington’s political pressure campaign.
