Trump said he urged Netanyahu to stop the strikes on Iran's energy facilities

U.S. President Donald Trump said he had urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to strike Iranian oil and gas facilities.

CNN reported this.

“I told him: don’t do it. And he won’t do it,” Trump said.

Earlier, the U.S. president claimed that the U.S. “knew nothing” about Israel’s strike on facilities at the South Pars gas field. At the same time, CNN sources reported that the attack was coordinated with Washington, and the U.S. was aware of it.

Trump emphasized that the U.S. and Israel act independently but maintain close coordination.

According to him, Israel may sometimes act on its own, but in cases where such actions do not suit Washington, the parties agree to change their approach.

On March 19, air raid sirens sounded nine times in Jerusalem.

Israel also struck Iran’s fleet in the Caspian Sea for the first time.

The U.S. is trying to communicate with the Iranians despite the internet shutdown.

Iran has threatened a stronger response to the strikes.
