Trump Again Blamed Ukraine for Rising Gas Prices

U.S. President Donald Trump has once again claimed that Ukraine is allegedly contributing to the rise in global fuel prices. According to him, Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries are reducing supply on the global market, which, in his view, is affecting the price of gasoline.

This time, Trump also linked the price increases to the policies of U.S. Democrats, accusing them of shutting down oil refineries in “blue” states.

The U.S. president shared his position on the social media platform Truth Social.

“What’s driving up gas prices right now isn’t the Strait of Hormuz anymore—because a record number of barrels of oil pass through there almost every day—but the term ‘oil refineries.’ Ukraine is blowing up Russian refineries, and the Democrats are shutting down ours in blue states, such as California,” Trump wrote.

In this way, Trump linked the situation on the fuel market to two factors at once—Ukraine’s strikes on Russian oil infrastructure and the closure of oil refineries in the U.S.

Earlier, the U.S. president also highlighted the impact of geopolitical events and disruptions to energy infrastructure on global fuel prices.

Trump wrote about this on Truth Social.

On October 6, the average price of A-95 gasoline at seven gas station chains was approximately 90.71 UAH per liter, and diesel fuel was 99.12 UAH. The highest prices for gasoline and diesel were recorded at Socar gas stations.
