The IDF killed a militant who was holding an Israeli hostage

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the General Security Service (Shin Bet) officially announced the elimination in the northern Gaza Strip of Sabai Zahir Abd al-Hamid Abu Hasni — a militant belonging to the elite “Nukhba” special forces unit, which is part of the military wing of the terrorist group Hamas

According to Israeli intelligence, Abu Hasna was directly involved in the mass killings in Israel on October 7, 2023, and subsequently was part of the group of militants responsible for holding the kidnapped Israeli, Omer Shem-Tov, hostage. During subsequent combat operations, the eliminated terrorist was involved in laying mines, planting explosive devices, and planning attacks on Israeli Army units.

In addition, the IDF reports the elimination of three more armed Hamas militants during another airstrike in the north of the enclave due to a direct threat to military personnel. The agency separately emphasized that forces under the Southern Command are currently operating in the Gaza Strip in strict accordance with the terms of existing operational agreements.

This was reported by newsru.co.il, citing the press service of Israel’s Defense Ministry.

Despite the declared ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, Israeli forces carried out strikes on Lebanese territory. At least five people were killed in the shelling, including a Lebanese Army soldier. The sides once again exchanged harsh statements, and the ceasefire is effectively at risk of collapsing.

U.S. intelligence warned the Donald Trump administration that Israel’s actions could jeopardize recent efforts to reach a long-term peace agreement with Iran.
