Tusk confirmed the delivery of missiles for the Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine
Poland has provided Ukraine with missiles for Patriot air defense systems to protect against Russian air attacks.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced this during a visit to a military aircraft factory. According to him, these systems are capable of effectively intercepting enemy targets, including Iskander ballistic missiles. The head of government assured that the deliveries are carefully planned and do not weaken Poland’s own defense capabilities. He emphasized that every missile accurately fired in Ukraine that destroys the aggressor’s equipment directly enhances Poland’s own national security.
Tusk called on politicians not to turn military aid into a tool for internal political struggles. He stressed that historical disputes or issues regarding refugees should not jeopardize defense cooperation. The prime minister recalled that the previous government had already initiated a large-scale transfer of weapons without any criticism, and called on Poles to remain united on security issues so as not to pay too high a price for their differences, according to RMF24.

Earlier, Krzysztof Bosak, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm and leader of the right-wing Confederation party, accused the government of secretly providing Ukraine with expensive interceptor missiles for Patriot systems in March of this year. According to the opposition politician, these missiles were purchased directly from the United States to develop Poland’s own multi-layered air defense system and are the only means at the Polish Army’s disposal capable of intercepting Russian “Iskander” ballistic missiles.
Polish Defense Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that, following consultations with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, he had ordered the declassification of information regarding all Polish military supplies to Ukraine from 2022 to 2026. He also ordered the Military Counterintelligence Service to identify those involved in the possible disclosure of state secrets.
