Tusk called on Zelenskyy and Navrotsky to engage in direct talks regarding the UPA
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has called for direct talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Polish President-elect Karol Nawrocki amid discussions on historical issues. According to Tusk, emotional disputes surrounding the UPA should not undermine solidarity between Kyiv and Warsaw in the face of Russian aggression. He emphasized that it is precisely dialogue at the highest level that can help avoid a deterioration in relations and preserve the partnership between the two countries.
According to Tusk, since traditional diplomacy has yielded no results, he decided to publicly address the presidents of Ukraine and Poland, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Karol Nawrocki.
"Before emotions destroy our solidarity, which was born in opposition to the Russian threat. Cooperation is in the interests of both our states and peoples, while conflict serves Moscow’s interests. This is, I suppose, obvious to all of us,” the Polish prime minister emphasized.

Poland’s Defense Minister called on Ukraine to reconsider its decision regarding the unit named after the Heroes of the UPA.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski announced private consultations with Ukraine regarding the possible naming of one of the Special Operations Forces units after the “Heroes of the UPA.” According to him, this issue is being discussed in a diplomatic format.
Warsaw has reacted to the decision to rename the Ukrainian military unit. This concerns an elite unit of the Special Operations Forces, which, according to reports, was named in honor of the Heroes of the UPA. This has sparked a critical reaction in Polish society and political circles.
