Authorities in Finland are investigating fake news about drone defense guidelines

In Finland, law enforcement officials are investigating the circulation of fake instructions on how to protect against drones, which were issued in the name of emergency services.

The fake documents contained advice on how to respond to drone attacks both indoors and outdoors and bore the rescue service’s logo.

The police have opened a criminal investigation into the impersonation of official authorities and are identifying the source of the materials.

According to the investigation, these instructions first appeared in a video on Russian social media, after which they spread across the Finnish information space.

The fake reports also claimed there was an alleged threat from Ukrainian drones.

As a reminder, Finland has deported a record number of Russians.

Finland is also making it harder to obtain permanent residency.

On Sunday, two drones, likely belonging to Ukraine, crashed on Finnish territory.
