Finland is investigating possible break-ins at lawmakers' homes — Bloomberg

Finnish police will launch an investigation into a series of suspicious incidents involving possible illegal entry into the homes of members of parliament, particularly in the Helsinki area.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Paula Rissikko reported that the exact number of homes potentially affected by the incidents is currently unknown. Among the possible victims are representatives of several political parties.

Parliament Speaker Jussi Hallah-Aho stated that there may be a significant number of such cases. According to him, they have occurred over the past year. No forced entry was recorded, but in some cases, traces may have been left intentionally so they would be noticed.

Parliament only learned of the possible incidents last week and has begun to assess their scope. Hallaa-aho declined to disclose details so as not to jeopardize the investigation.

Risikko urged lawmakers to contact the police in the event of suspicious incidents and to report any suspicious observations to law enforcement.
