In France, 1,500 people gathered for an illegal rave despite the fires
In the French municipality of Aubigny, about 1,500 people took part in an unauthorized rave party on the night of Saturday, August 1, despite a ban by local authorities and the high risk of forest fires.
To maintain order, the police launched a ground and air operation, including a helicopter patrolling the event site. The day before, the prefecture of the Deux-Sèvres department had banned all large-scale music events that had not been officially approved or authorized.
The prefecture stated that holding the party posed serious risks to public health and could cause fires, especially given that fire departments were already engaged in fighting fires in other regions of the country.
According to local media reports, the participants—mostly between the ages of 20 and 30—were dancing on a farm plot near a forest. The area was equipped with fire extinguishers.
A representative of the organizers acknowledged that hard drugs were being distributed at the event. According to him, there were people on site trained to respond to such situations. At the same time, signs were spotted at the rave offering to sell, among other things, ketamine, cocaine, and LSD, with prices listed.

Ukraine has sent a combined detachment of State Emergency Service (SES) rescuers to France to assist in fighting the massive wildfires that have engulfed certain regions of the country. Ukrainian specialists will assist French services in extinguishing the fires and conducting rescue operations.
