In Ghana, man dies under timber load after tricycle overturns
In the settlement of Assin-Gangan in the Assin-North district of Ghana, a man died after a timber-laden tricycle overturned. As MyJoyOnline reports, citing a community source, the timber load fell on the man, and he died at the scene.
He went to collect timber
The deceased was named Ato and was about 40 years old. According to the source, he worked as an information centre operator, was a farmer and a youth organizer for the National Democratic Congress branch in the Assin-North constituency.
It was reported that on September 3, at around 08:00, Ato left home for his farm to collect timber. He removed the cargo bed from the cargo tricycle, which locals call aboboyaa, to make room for the load, and then set off for home.

The tricycle overturned on the road
On a stretch of road described as being in very poor condition, the overloaded tricycle lost its balance and overturned. According to the community source, the timber fell on Ato.
The incident shocked residents of Assin-Gangan. Several people went into the bushes to retrieve the body. At the time of reporting, the incident had not yet been reported to the police, and efforts were being made to transport the body from the scene.
