Ten women entrepreneurs graduate from Women in Tech accelerator in Ghana — MyJoyOnline
In Ghana, ten women entrepreneurs have completed the sixth cohort of the Standard Chartered Foundation Women in Tech Accelerator program. During Pitch Day, the participants presented their businesses and competed for a share of grant funding, MyJoyOnline reports.
Grants for five enterprises
The five most successful enterprises — Edu3Dcation, WADMET, Verte Tower, SisiMarie and Porducare — will receive 113,500 Ghanaian cedis each in grant funding. The funds are intended to support the development and scaling of their technology projects focused on climate solutions and the needs of local and broader markets.
The sixth cohort also featured Porducare Enterprise, Girls Farm Hub, Rising She Farms, Kroms, Booksie, Sigil Best Enterprise, SISIMARIE, Wadmet Enterprise, Edu3Dcation Gh Ltd and Verte Tower. According to the source, all ten women entrepreneurs use technology and innovation in their sectors.

Six-month program
The accelerator lasted six months and is implemented by the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre, a center within Ashesi University. The program included practical training, portfolio management support, masterclasses, pitch preparation and professional networking opportunities.
Following the first five cohorts, the program provided $210,000 in grants and supported 83 women-led businesses. According to the figures cited, these enterprises created more than 166 jobs, reached over 31,231 customers and generated combined revenue of 3.9 million Ghanaian cedis.
Ghana Climate Innovation Centre Executive Director Pearl Esua-Mensah said that the sixth cohort reached regions where the accelerator had not previously operated, as well as women with disabilities. Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC Chief Executive Officer Korse Godzi emphasized the importance of supporting women-led businesses that use technology.
