Ho Technical University graduate becomes the university’s best graduating student in Ghana
In Ghana, Ho Technical University graduate Nancy Agyeman Dua became the university’s best graduating student in the class of 2025. She earned a Bachelor of Technology degree in Hospitality Management, completing her studies with a CGPA of 3.96 out of 4, MyJoyOnline reports.
Family support and scholarship
Dua grew up in Abuakwa in the Ashanti Region. Her father works as a mechanic, while her mother sells sachet water. As education costs increased, it became more difficult for the family to pay for university studies and other academic needs.
According to the graduate, her parents encouraged her to continue her education despite financial difficulties. She enrolled at Ho Technical University and later learned about the MTN Bright Scholarship through a group chat with friends. One of her relatives also advised her to apply.

After being selected, the scholarship programme provided her with support to cover tuition and other academic expenses. Dua graduated from the university in November 2025 and received the Overall Best Graduating Student award.
Plans after university
After graduating, Dua started her own beauty business, offering hair braiding and eyelash services. At the same time, she is preparing for her next goal — transitioning to the study of law.
The MTN Bright Scholarship programme was launched in 2017 to support talented students facing financial hardship while pursuing higher education. Since then, it has supported 1,220 students at 18 higher education institutions, providing assistance with tuition fees, accommodation, laptops, books and learning materials. According to the programme, 17 of its scholarship recipients became valedictorians or the best students at their universities, while 299 graduated with first-class honours.
