In Greece, 13 lawmakers have had their parliamentary immunity lifted over a scandal involving EU subsidies
The Greek Parliament has approved the lifting of parliamentary immunity for 13 members of the ruling New Democracy party in connection with an investigation into alleged fraud involving EU funds.

The case involves an investigation into the activities of the OPEKEPE agency, which was responsible for distributing agricultural subsidies.
According to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, some farmers may have illegally received EU funds with the assistance of officials.
The scandal has already hit Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s government—several cabinet members have resigned, and the party’s approval ratings have dropped.
One of the individuals implicated, Kostas Karamanlis, himself called on parliament to lift his immunity, stating his readiness to prove his innocence.
The Greek government is drafting new rules that will require parents to install a special app to block their children’s access to online gambling. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced this, emphasizing that it is necessary to combat widespread circumvention of age restrictions by teenagers.
