A second Ukrainian national has been detained in Croatia in connection with the Nord Stream pipeline explosions
Ukrainian citizen Volodymyr Zhuravlev, whom Germany suspects of involvement in the sabotage of the "Nord Stream" gas pipelines in September 2022, was detained in Croatia.
The man was detained in the city of Pula based on a German arrest warrant. German authorities believe he was part of a group that may have organized the sabotage and planted explosives on the gas pipelines.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Zhuravlev is suspected of jointly organizing an explosion, sabotage, and the destruction of structures.
After his extradition to Germany, he is to appear before an investigating judge at the Federal Supreme Court.

In downtown Zagreb, near the “Esplanada” hotel, actors wearing uniforms resembling those of the Ukrainian military and carrying “weapons” were spotted, along with barricades and sandbags. As it turned out, filming is underway there for a movie by American director Doug Liman. Actors Adrien Brody and Sean Penn have already been seen on set.
The investigation into the alleged sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines is now entering a new phase. The defense attorneys for Ukrainian soldier Serhiy Kuznetsov reported that they received the indictment from the German side just yesterday. According to them, they now have about two months to thoroughly review the case materials and prepare their defense.
In Germany, charges have been filed against a Ukrainian in the Nord Stream case.
