More than 31,000 people evacuated in China due to heavy rains — Anadolu Agency
In China’s southern province of Hainan, 31,564 people were evacuated due to continuous heavy rains. This was reported by Anadolu Agency, citing the provincial committee for disaster prevention, mitigation and relief.
Rainfall exceeded 300 millimeters
Over the past three days, rainfall exceeded 300 millimeters in 24 townships across six cities and counties. The highest amount of rain was recorded in Changfeng Township of Wanning County — 452 millimeters.
As of Sunday evening, no major disasters had been reported. Forecasters predicted that the rains would continue until Monday.

Restrictions and rescue readiness
In several cities and counties, authorities closed schools and tourist sites and imposed traffic restrictions on roads affected by the bad weather. Fire and rescue units were pre-positioned in key areas.
Additional personnel and water drainage equipment were sent to Wanning, Qionghai and Lingshui counties. Local authorities said they were monitoring rainfall amounts and water levels to prevent floods, urban waterlogging, geological hazards, and the flooding of roads and bridges.
