China’s Zhuque-2E rocket places 10 satellites into orbit — ECNS

Chinese private space company LandSpace on September 15 launched the Zhuque-2E Y7 carrier rocket, which placed 10 satellites from the Qianfan Polar Orbit 19 group into orbit. The launch took place at 14:26 Beijing time from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Pilot Zone in northwestern China.

Mission for an internet constellation

As ECNS reports, this was the first time a Chinese private rocket company had carried out a launch for a large satellite internet constellation.

The launch was the ninth flight of Zhuque-2 series rockets. The Zhuque-2E modification has a payload capacity of up to 6 tonnes and is LandSpace’s main rocket for regular commercial launches.

Development of Zhuque-3

LandSpace is also developing the reusable Zhuque-3 rocket. According to the company, it is expected to be capable of delivering about 18 tonnes of payload in reusable mode. LandSpace said it would continue Zhuque-2E launches while advancing the validation of Zhuque-3.
