China launches trial operation of upgraded railway for grain transportation
In Heilongjiang Province in northeastern China, trial operation of the Yuibaoqing Railway was launched on Monday after a comprehensive track upgrade and modernization of station tracks. The line is an important freight route for transporting grain from the Sanjiang Plain to domestic markets in China.
Route for grain cargo
According to ECNS, the railway is approximately 60 kilometers long. It was put into operation in 1998. It connects the main grain-growing areas of the Sanjiang Plain and provides a logistics link between the region's commercial grain bases and consumer markets across China.

The Sanjiang Plain is one of China's major commercial grain production areas. Soybeans, corn and rice are grown there. The region consistently ranks among the country's leaders in total grain production and interregional supplies.
Works without interruption to transportation
The project involved strengthening the track structure and optimizing station layouts. According to ECNS, the work was carried out without interrupting regular grain transportation despite difficult local conditions, including low temperatures, seasonal ground freezing and rainy summers.
