Quito to host free food fair and street salsa on August 22
According to The Rio Times, two free street events will take place in Quito on Saturday, August 22, 2026: the Manden a Las Casas neighborhood food fair and the seventh Salsa en la Calle gathering. Tickets or advance registration are not required for either event.
Fair in Las Casas
Manden a Las Casas will be held for the first time at Italia Park in the Las Casas neighborhood in northern Quito. The fair will run from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. The park is located at the intersection of Luis Mosquera Narváez and Núñez de Bonilla streets.
The fair program will combine food stalls and DJ performances. Local media describe the event as a space where neighborhood residents can eat, socialize and meet.

Salsa near the contemporary art center
Salsa en la Calle Vol. 7 will take place in the square in front of the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo in the San Juan neighborhood in central Quito. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The art center is located at the intersection of Montevideo and Luis Dávila streets.
The event aims to support commerce on the streets around the art center. Admission to both events will be free, but visitors will pay separately for food and drinks at the stalls.
Quito's major August food festivals, including Hueca Fest, took place earlier this month. The August 22 events will be held in different parts of the city, and Salsa en la Calle will end later than the Las Casas fair.
