Gasoline sales in Crimea have been limited to four hours a day
The occupying authorities in Crimea have tightened restrictions on the sale of fuel. Gasoline and diesel fuel on the peninsula will now be sold for only four hours a day—from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Sergey Aksyonov, the Moscow-appointed “head” of Crimea, stated that the decision is due to insufficient fuel supplies. One hour before the start of morning sales, information about gas stations with available gasoline and diesel will be published on the interactive map of the “Ministry of Fuel and Energy.”
According to him, fuel supplies currently do not meet the needs of the peninsula’s residents.
The fuel crisis in Russia has been ongoing since June and is linked, in particular, to Ukrainian drone strikes on oil refineries. At the same time, the Ukrainian military has begun striking fuel supply routes to Crimea, specifically targeting Russian vessels that supply the peninsula.
At the end of June, the free sale of fuel was suspended in Crimea, after which the occupying authorities declared a state of emergency due to the shortage.
