Five people detained in Melbourne after raids at CFMEU headquarters

Searches at six addresses
As ABC News Australia reports, Taskforce Hawk detectives executed search warrants at six addresses as part of an investigation into alleged secret commissions. One of the locations searched was the construction union's office on Elizabeth Street.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said that five people had been detained and were being questioned. Law enforcement officers said they would provide further information later that day.
The union's position
CFMEU assistant administrator Matt McGowan said the union was aware of the police operation conducted in the morning as part of Taskforce Hawk's work. According to him, the CFMEU would not comment on the matter because the police investigation is ongoing.
