The T.Y. Danjuma Foundation has sent 50 children from the Murbai community in the Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of Taraba State, Nigeria, for specialized treatment due to eye problems. The children are undergoing examinations and receiving medical care at the T.Y. Danjuma Specialist Eye Hospital in Takum.
Assistance following appeals
As Premium Times Nigeria reports, the foundation's intervention began after reports emerged of eye problems among several children in the community. The foundation received appeals regarding their condition and arranged transportation for the children for specialized examinations and treatment.
Ophthalmologists are to determine the nature and severity of each child's condition, after which the necessary treatment will be determined individually for every patient.

The T.Y. Danjuma Foundation has assumed the costs of medical care, transportation, food and accommodation for the children during treatment. According to the publication, obtaining specialized eye care is difficult for some families because of its cost and limited availability.
