PTI activist Falak Javed granted bail after arrest in Pakistan
An anti-terrorism court in Lahore, Pakistan, granted post-arrest bail to Falak Javed, a social media activist for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. She is suspected of involvement in an alleged attack on a group of Islamabad police officers near the residence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Zaman Park. Dawn reports.
Bail conditions
Judge Malik Abid Hussain granted Javed’s bail application and ordered her to submit surety bonds worth 100,000 Pakistani rupees. The prosecution submitted the case materials to the court, while the suspect’s lawyer completed his arguments on the application.
The defense lawyer stated that Javed has a legal right to bail, including given that she is a woman. He also noted that the investigation has been completed, so there are no grounds for keeping the activist in custody further.

Prosecution’s version
A representative of the state prosecution opposed granting bail. According to him, Javed was involved in an attack on Islamabad police officers near Zaman Park, and a bottle containing an incendiary mixture was allegedly recovered from her during the investigation.
According to the prosecution, police officers arrived at the home of PTI founder Imran Khan to serve a summons. The prosecution alleges that party supporters threw bottles containing an incendiary mixture at law enforcement officers, resulting in injuries to several police officers. Racecourse police registered FIR No. 410/2023 in connection with this alleged attack.
Other cases involving PTI representatives
The anti-terrorism court also extended pre-arrest bail until October 6 for Imran Khan’s sisters, Aleema and Uzma Khan, as well as former federal ministers Asad Umar, Azam Swati and Fawad Chaudhry. Their cases concern several episodes of violence, including the May 9 riots.
