Pakistan police checkpoint blast kills at least 11 — Dawn

At least 11 people were killed and another 20 injured in Pakistan in a bomb attack on the Aman-Mela police checkpoint near Darazinda. Dawn reported this, citing the Rescue 1122 emergency service.

Victims and injured

The dead included eight men, two women and one child. Rescue teams continued working at the blast site and pulling people from under the rubble.

According to police, the injured included police officers, customs workers and two civilians. Rescue 1122 said that, at the time of publication, 20 injured people had received medical assistance and were taken to hospitals.

Attack location

The incident occurred on Saturday at the Aman-Mela checkpoint, located near Mughal Kot and Darazinda on the Dera Ismail Khan–Quetta highway. The area is located near the border between the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
